James's Story
Life
Married and living in Washington State, working for the State, supervising half of the state professional staff providing employment service for those who are visually impaired. My wife has 5 children from a previous marriage, four girls (all married with children) and a son who recently became engaged after graduating from Western Washington State with a BA in Political Science.
College
I worked full time as a Bank Manager while going to Cal-State Los Angeles, finishing my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. After graduating in 1975 I started ad Director of Rehabilitation for Goodwill Industries of Los Angeles, later becoming Executive Director for Goodwill Industries of Kansas. I did post graduate work at University of San Franciso in Vocational Rehabilitation. I wasn't able to do much at college except go to school because I worked all the time.
Workplace

m at Bank of America, rising to the position of Accounting Supervisor. Later, I became manager for Home Savings and Loan in several cities before getting my Master's Degree and leaving Financial management for Vocational Rehabilitation. Currently I supervise vocational rehabilitation staff in the State of Washington working with visually impaired.
Military
I did my basic training in the US Army at Camp Roberts and shipped out to Korea July, 1951 and was wounded by a booby-trap my first day in combat. I received surgery to remove shrapnel and was reassigned to the 8001st Transportation Corps Depot Maintenance Division in Yokohama, Japan where I supervised an accounting section. I was discharged in Japan in 1953, and went to work for the Department of the Army serving at 8th Army Headquarters supervising classified printing and part of the Far East Command, Tactical War Room in case the Pentagon was destroyed. I returned to Korea to establish Marine Depot Maintenace in Inchon to repair marine engines for spy boats during the Viet Nam war.
