James's Story
Life
Working for Fraunhofer USA DMT as an applications engineer. Involved in trade show demos for the Fraunhofer booth at CES, NAB, AES and IBC, Streaming Media, Audio for VR and MPEG-H audio for ATSC TV in Korea as well as for the latest TV system in China.
Additionally working as a freelance audio mixer for live sports including Pac-12 Networks and Tachi Palace Fights (MMA.)
Previous worked at Dolby Labs for 23 years. Last position was Technical Manager, Corporate Marketing. Before that work inccluded promoting Dolby Surround for live broadcast, Dolby Diigital for 5.1 channel broadcast, 7 Olympics Broadcasts...Expand for more
for NBC Olympics including Sound Designer for 2002 NBC/HDNet High Def 5.1 broadcast. Also was Audio Mixer for NFL on FOX and MLB on FOX broadcasts, KPIX 49er pre season football and KFOG Bammies radio broadcasts.
Before working for Dolby I worked as a recording engineer making TV and radio commercials, corporate videos and many albums for Concord Records. Album credits include George Shearing, Tito Puente, LA4 (Laurindo Almeida, Bud Shank, Jeff Hamilton and Ray Brown), Stephen Grapelli, Herb Ellis, Mel Torme, Jim Carter/Ron Hall and many others.
Living in Lathrop with my wife of 37 years. 2 kids, 5 grandkids.
