Military
I joined the Air Force in Sept 1971 and retired in Feb 2003. During this time I had many travels that were rewarding and some that were not. I had a great career and met many interesting people to include most of all my wife Nelda. This was the greatest monent of my career. My travels were far and broad and I...Expand for more
would not trade them for anything. I missed my family and my country when I was away, but everytime I returned home it made me appreciate the "United States" more than when I left. We take this country for grantit and forget why our troops are out there in the trenches. It is so the ungrateful & selfish people here in the US can have the FREEDOM to can speak their minds, burn the flag, protest the Pledge of allegience in the schools and so on &on.
I have many fiends that I was stationed with and we keep in touch. I respect and honor the Military way of life and believe that everyone should spend a tour of duty in the service.
My travels included most of the states in the USA, Korea, Alaska, Holland, Germany (East & West in the early 70's) Copenhagen, France, Denmark. The military helped me grow in many ways and I often wondered what life would have been like if I had never took the oath and served. I can only say that if I had it to over again "I WOULD" in a heart beat. I am proud to be an AMERICAN.
