James's Story
I didn't do much in high school except to show up for class. After Air Academy, I went south to Louisiana Tech University and got a degree in Zoology. Since I could not make a living with that, I went to medical school at Louisiana State University. Geaux Tigers! While in school I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I was able to continue my education while being treated. I went to Little Rock, Arkansas to train in Internal Medicine, and met my wife, while in training. returned to Little Rock to raise our family and I taught at the University of AR Medical School for 8 years. I am now in private practice in Hot Springs ,AR with my beautiful wife and 2 children.My daughter is 18 and a senior in High school. My son is 14. We are still waiting for the empty nest.My daughter enjoys Horseback riding and is competing in western pleasure currently. My son is into soccer and Boy Scouts. I have been an assistant scout master for way to long. I feel that my life has been blessed by God, my family and my good fortune to beat cancer.
