James's Story
Life
Hi Everyone!
After graduating Rocky Point HS I first attended Oswego College and then graduated from St. Joseph's College in 1992. I became a teacher at Eastport School District in 1992 for a short time and then an Assistant Principal of the Elementary school where I am still currently employed to date. My other career for the last fourteen years has been a senior childcare worker at a group home for troubled adolescents. I am married with six children (3 boys - including a set of twin four yr old boys and 3 girls-they are all beautiful) and I live in the Village of Bellport, Long Island. I still frequent the Rocky Pt. area to see my Mom and Grandparents who live in the same house I was brought up in. I have three cats Lucy, Ricky, and Ethel. We had a black lab for six years but she ran away from home a few months ago- we wish her well. I enjoy most sports but with two (plus) jobs and six kids I never get to play them and rarely get to watch them either. My hobbies are sports, reading, and hanging out/playing with my children or vacationing with my family.

College
Oswego was the time of my life. I did a lot in the three years that I was there. I lived in the dorms and off-campus. I was a founding father and Pledge Master of Sigma Phi Epsilon National Fraternity. I was a Resident Assistant in Hart Hall. I was the Head JV Lacrosse Coach at Oswego High School. I met some wonderful, exciting people that I will never forget. I enjoyed college life to the fullest. It allowed me to grow and experience things that my parents taught me growing up but I never saw until I got there.
St. Joseph's College was one of the major reasons that I am employed in the wonderful career that I am in today. It prepared me to educate kids. It gave me the know-how to rise to the challenge of being an Assistant Principal of a High School (at a young age) for many years and now I'm doing the same job with the Elementary students. College gave me time to live and time to grow. I am really grateful and have fond memories.
