Life

While in Electrician's Mate A School, I decided that I didn't want to be a nuc and went out to a carrier. I completed five years on board the USS Ranger and then went to a maintenance facility in Keyport, Washington. I worked on Torpedo Retrievers. gust 1991. In October of the same year, I went back into the Navy Reserve and was assigned to a Special Boat Unit in Vallejo. (the same boats form Apocalypse Now) The unit de-commissioned and I went into recruiting. I recruited in Vallejo and then Sacramento, Mayport Florida and finally Oklahoma City. I had a total of ten years in recruiting.
In July of 2006 I transferred to a maintenance facility in South Texas. I am currently the Leading Petty Officer here for the Boatswain's Mates, Damage Controlmen and the Ship-Fitter/Welders. I am actively trying to get back to Oklahoma nad retire there. I have a small, 2200 sqft house sitting on a hill on 2 acres. My wife is up there, as are two of my daughters and three of my grandchildren.
I am finishing up my bachelor's degree in History/Business at Fort Hays State University.
