James's Story

Life After High School, I joined the U.S. Army. I completed a career of 22 years in the military traveling around the world and serving my country in a variety of missions. I was a Special Agent for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division. I married the love of my life in 1984. I retired from the Army in 1995 and was immediately employed by the Missouri Department of Revenue as the Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Bureau in Jefferson City, Missouri. I have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Accounting from Columbia College. My hobby is restoring classic Camaros. My wife Maureen and I presently have three Camaros, a 1969 SS 4 speed, a 1975 Sport Coupe 4 speed and a 1993 Z28 6 speed. We both enjoy all kinds of motorsports and taking our cars to car shows. I have a great life and wouldn't trade it for anything. College After graduation I joined the Army and stayed for the long haul. During my Army career, I attended classes in the evenings. I received my AS in Law Enforcement in 1985 from Central Texas College. I completed two BA's in Criminal Justice and Finance & Accounting in 1998. I studied my tail off and graduated Magna Cum Laude (4.0)...Expand for more
Who would have thunk it. Workplace After retiring from the Army in 1995, I was hired as the Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Investigation Bureau for the Missouri Department of Revenue. I supervise investigations of violations of Missouri statutes state-wide. I absolutely love my job! Military I joined the Army in my senior year and in September 1973, I shipped off to Basic Training and Military Police School. I was stationed at West Point from 1974 through 1977. I was stationed in Wertheim Germany from 1978 through 1980. I was stationed in Alabama in 1981 where I attended the Criminal Investigators Course. I then went to Ft. Knox Kentucky for two years and then made a one year trip to Seoul Korea. When I left Korea, I went to Ft. Riley, Kansas where I met the most wonderful woman in the world. We went to Wurzburg Germany in 1987 and returned to the U.S. in 1990. I spent my last 5 years at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and while there I made my last overseas deployment to a fun place(Somalia). When I returned I had decided that I had witnessed too much death and destruction so I retired in 1995. I strongly believe that everyone should spend a couple of years serving their country in one way or another.
