James's Story
I'm James Meyer and I graduated in 1966 from Sierra Vista and I joined the Marine Corp on December 20, 1966. I left for Boot camp at Ucmrd in San Diego on January 11th. I left for Vietnam on August 4. 1967 and spent 20 months with E co, 2nd Battalion 9th Marine Regiment. I came home on 20 April, 1969. l Guard and spent 6 years in the Army National Guard. Then I became a recruiter for the National Guard for 5 1/2 years and a recruiter for the Army Reserves for 3 years. I have served in Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. I retired from the the Army on September 19, 2008 I served for 38 years. I have 8 children and 4; grand children and 2 great grandchildren. I live in Caldwell. Idaho.
