The greatest thing Sarasota High School had for me was a retired Navy, Vocational Drafting teacher by the name of Captain McLean. He had a two year, three period a day vocational track program. Captain could only take 18 new students per year so you had to apply for the class. He would take your application and talk to your teachers. The worse you did, the more likely he would take you. He basically to the "bums" of the school and made something of us.
