Life After high school, I attended North Dakota State University for one year and was hopelessly unmotivated. I returned to St. Louis Park, and moved shortly after to Minnetonka. I started as a glorified "bus boy" at the Wayzata Country Club. That would be the start of 8 years of employment with the pinnacle being the manager of the "front of the house." During this time, I moved to Excelsior, and joined the Excelsior Volunteer Fire Department. I chose to leave the W.C.C. to be a part of a management team for the Excelsior Park Restaurant (no longer there...). After a tremendously hectic summer, we were informed that the owners could no longer afford to keep much of the management staff, and so back to the W.C.C. for 8 Months. I was contacted by Kenn Rockler of T. Wright's to come and help his restaurant. During my employment there, I decided to pursue firefighting full time. My grandparents, and parents had retired to Bella Vista, AR. After checking the employment prospects here, I decided to try in AR. I took a test for the city of Fayetteville (Home of the Razorbacks). I got hired in 6/97 and have never regretted it for a day. I have just recently been promoted to the position of Captain in our Fire Prevention division. Unfortunately this takes me out of burning houses, and more into investigating the cause. But, with a strong interest in law enforcement this may help to satisfy both cravings (fire and law).
