James's Story
I graduated from St. Francis Prep then attended Queens College. I left school shortly thereafter and worked for GM during the day and played in a band on weekends and some weekdays. We had moderate sucess with the band and were about to sigh a record contract around early winter of 1966 with Kapp Records. This streak of good luck was derailed by being drafted in Nov 1966. After qualifying for and entering the Army's Officer Candidate Program I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in Sept 1967. I got married in Dec 1967 but later divorced in 1986. t in 1969 I returned to GM, night school at Hunter College, then Johnson & Higgins Ins. Brokerage. In 1974 I joined the NYPD. Luckily in 1991 I met my lovely future wife Joann. We got married at Megans Bay beach in St. Thomas in 1994 and we now divide our time between our home in NJ, a small log home in Pennsylvaniaand and a condo in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I retired from the NYPD as a Lieutenant SA (Special Assignment) after 26 years. Jo still works but other than business trips is able to work from home, To borrow a famous baseball expression "Life has been very, very good to me".
