James's Story

Life Directly after graduation, I enlisted in the US Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman. I enjoyed my career so much that I stayed for 30 years. During that time, I served with the Fleet Marine Force as a Special Operations Technician with Reconnaissance Units. I served in several combat campaigns, traveled the world and concluded with a distinguished career. I attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and my last 10 years in the Navy, I was a Command Master Chief. ything is cut and dry in this world. I enjoy all types of outside pleasures and continue to enjoy a very active life. I was unable to attend the reunion becuase we recently experienced two direct hits from hurricanes and we are still picking up the pieces. Besides the inconvience of the hurricanes, I wouldn't live anywhere else except for an occasional trip to Lake Meade in the summer or Colorado in the winter for skiing. I married the former Marueen Callaghan (Wantagh HS class of 73) and have been married 27 great years and we have three beautiful children. Our oldst is an RN and teaches in the local HS. We are expecting our first grandson in December 2005. Wow, what a life. I thank God for being so wonderful to me and my family.
