James's Story
Life
It seems difficult to me to quantify the most important things to put here. Those that matter most are integrated in who I've become.
I grew up in Lakewood and went to Lasley elementary and Alameda Jr.. During this time I participated in the Westernaires as a trick roper, indian dancer and calvary rider. We travelled throughout the region. It was a great experience.
In 8th grade Jr. High we moved to Valley High Ranch Estates and I transferred to Evergreen Jr. During the next four + years I suffered many of the same issues of adolescent pergatory, taking insecure paths, looking for spectacular moments to replace a lack of guidance. Its been so long since I walked the woods in Valley High or hung out with friends at the teen center. So many great people moved through my life during this time that I wish I had stayed in touch with...
In 12th grade I decided to join the Navy. I did well on some tests and attended a 2 year school on digital radars. I toured many countries in the pacific with New Zealand as my favorite. I complete my GED in the Navy.
When I got out I went to work for StorageTek in Utah as a field representitive on computer storage equipment.
One time while in boulder for training I met Beth, my ex. Within a year we were married. We spent 14 yrs together but grew apart. We had many g...Expand for more
ood years and have two fine kids. Jamie, my daughter is at Front Range and Morgan, my son is at CU. Jamie has won awards for writing. Morgan took 5th in the nation in chess.
I attended college getting an engineering degree and my career at StorageTek grew from field rep to regional rep to engineer to corporate architect working on storage software applications.
The year of our divorce was coincidental with a StorageTek offering a large package during a layoff. I took it and went to work with Sun Microsystems where I work in advanced technologies on self healing systems.
In my spare time I am a composer and writer. I have over 50 songs, two of which have placed in regional competitions, and I have done some commercials. As part of the passion I hold for this I read, watch and listen to many genres of entertainment.
I also play pool and have won or placed in local, regional and national competions. Herein lays my best friends. I participate in three leagues during the course of the week and get together wih these folks during the weekend for cookouts and cards.
My primary athletic activities are running, biking and swimming with occational golf and tennis. My favorite spectator sport is basketball.
I have learned to believe in god, the human spirit and the compassion that intimate friendships hold.
