James (Jim)'s Story
Life
After '77, I attended SRJC for two years, UCD for two years and then finally graduated with a BSEE from Cal. Poly SLO after another two years -- yes, six in all.. I then worked for National Semiconductor in the "Silicon Valley", where I met my wonderful wife while attending Los Gatos Christian Church. We were married in '86 and lived for five years in San Jose.
One of the best opportunities we had was to live in Japan for nine months during most of 1990. I worked for NSC training our staff and working with customers on LAN products, while Lisa played tourist the entire time -- fair huh!?
Upon our return we moved to Grass Valley, CA. where I continued to work for NSC while telecommuting 3/5 of the week. Shortly after moving, our first child, Katherine, was born. We were pretty happy with her and decided we wanted another, so the Lord blessed us with another 16 months later -- her name is Alexandra.

iTech Micro. in Singapore. We thought we could swing it, but after 18 months I left due to the travel requirements. I computed (being an engineer after all) that over the entire time with TriTech, I had been gone from home 57% of the time.. Not good for a family or a marriage, but it was a great carreer experience.
I never thought I would return to NSC, but that's what happened. During my absense, they had opened a small design center in Grass Valley. I moved into marketing for National and have held various strategic marketing and team lead positions since, while working at the office locally.
My travel today is just right, being enough to keep me in touch with customers in Asia, Europe and domestically. The girls are growing fast, now entering 3rd. and 4th. grades respectively.
Lisa left her nursing career after Katherine was born and keeps busy leading a Bible Study group, volunteering at the kids school and managing their busy lives (and mine too from time to time!).
