James's Story
I married right after high school. Divorce 2 yrs later and joined the Marines. Served in Vietnam, the Phillipines and Barstow, CA. While on leave I met my wife, Marilyn Sue, through a mutual friend and found out she had also attended Hot Wells. She was also divorced. We dated when on leave and corresponded by letter and phone and married 3 months after I finished my military duty. We've been married 38 years.
We moved from San Antonio to Austin and then to Houston where we lived a number of years and where our children and grandchildren still live. About 16 years ago, Sue's job...Expand for more
brought us to the beautiful state of VA and we're still here. We live on about 8.5 acres of wood land in a small 3 BR cabin with a screened in front porch and a big deck in the back. It's like being on a never ending vacation. We're close to DC, the mountains and we love to travel.
My job has afforded us many wonderful trips compliments of General Motors to Mexico City, San Francisco, Hawaii, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Sweden.
I plan to retire next year and we are contemplating whether to move back to Texas to be close to family or to continue living in our own personal paradise.
