Three years into my retirement I have decided the "Bus Driver" chapter has yet to be experienced...so it is "the wheels on the bus go round and round"...retired from Army National Guard after 22 years of combined service (US Army Reserves; US Navy; US Naval Reserves; US Army National Guard)...went to Boot Camp twice (Army first, in '67 and then Navy in '75)...I retired in 2007 from the Postmaster position at Clarion, IA (32.5 years with military time). I was fortunate to have served as a Postmaster in six towns, Indianola; Marshalltown; Maxwell, Clarion, IA--Moline, IL; and Appleton, WI...During my USPS career I ...Expand for more
was also able to serve as a speech writer for the Postmaster General in Washington, DC...speech writing was one of the skills picked up as a journalist in the Navy, while stationed in Norfolk, VA...I am the father of five daughters and I have five grandchildren...the re-training is always going on.
