James's Story
As you likely know, I did'nt do too much classroom though I some how picked up quite a bit. I started out at J.L Bunker Elementary on Smith ave. in Newark,California.I attended Kindergarden and 1st grade nearly repeating w/a few others in my class. My parents were given an option to move me to another shool for some special education only available at Muller elementary on the corner of Cherry St. and Thornton ave, otherwise to repete the 1st grade,so I was transfered.I met Mary Ellen Webb, a special education teacher. After meeting with my mother she reccomended I be put on a drug to help w/ my hyperactivity of which I took pretty much for 2 years, till i found if I didnt show up to take it, I did'nt have to. n and spent two years, 3rd and 4th.Mary then moved to J.L. Bunker. My 5th grade year I went by Chris Sybesma and was one of the best years I spent in Elementary school, then 6th was pretty good too.I entered M.D.Silva Jr. High joined the wrestling team and found I was one of the fastest runners in the school of which at the time I thought was pretty special:-)As in the grades before,I spent little time in the classroom.
I always wanted to be a Police officer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a far fetched idea. As it turns out, they were right.I began high school in a special program called: The Alternatiive School located on campus of Memorial High.As it turned out, this nearly unstructered atmosphere paved a path to nothing good for me. I joined the U.S.M.C in 1981 and began boot camp July 6th.. -More later-
