James's Story
As most of you may know, I left Mayfield in 1985 for The University Of Wyoming on a Track and Field Scholarship. Came very close to the 1988 Olympics in Beijing, but suffered a knee injury that year, after successfully achieving standard. Graduated from Architectural Engineering in 1989, settled in Georgetown Ontario, married in 1990, divorced in 1991. Track and Field career ended in 1990 after my father passed away. ad 2 children. Coached track and field at Parry Sound High School and Parry Sound Track Club. Divorced again in 2001, relocated to Sudbury and became track and field coach at Laurentian University, where I produced multiple National Champions. Remarried in 2005, had 2 more children. My children are currently 22, 18, 4, 2.Moved to Kitchener in 2014 and now coach at the University Of Waterloo. My 18 year old son is currently one of the top 20 triple jumpers in the World for his age group.
