James "Monkey"'s Story
Monkey lived in Natchez until the earlier 1990s when he moved to Bude, MS. In November 2017, he was hospitalized in Natchez and diagnosed with dementia. In January 2018, he moved to California to live with his daughter. In California, a place he said he would never live, he enjoys grilling burgers and playing the harmonic on the patio, hiking in the mountains, boating on San Diego Bay, and fishing and boating on the lake. His grandson is a musician and Monkey enjoys attending his grandson’s musica...Expand for more

Monkey’s youngest sister, Barbara, passed away on 09 April 1990 of breast cancer. His older sister, Betty, passed away 03 July 2020. Betty also suffered from dementia. Monkey’s younger sister, Carole, passed away on 27 January 2022. Carole also had dementia and breast cancer. Monkey is the sole survivor of his immediate family.
