James's Story

Personal: as of Dec. 2011 Married my wife Mary in 1967 (44yrs.) One daughter-Tamara (41) Two wonderful grandsons Raleigh (8) &Kaellum (16 mo.) Story: After graduation in 1966, I attended SIU-C graduating in the spring of '71 with a teaching degree in Technical & Industrial Education. The Monday after graduation I guess you could say I won the Lottery-(Remember when they assigned numbers to birthdays for draft purposes)-Well my number 122 was drawn in May and I was officially Uncle Sams. From May '71-Dec'72-I served in the army stationed in Korea as a Military Policeman. From '72-'74 Returned to SIU-C to finish my Masters in Education . From 1974-2005 I became a teacher at O'fallon High School. I ...Expand for more
have many wonderful memories of my former students, I still keep in contact with many of them. I go fishing every year for a week in Wisconsin with one of my students who graduated in '81.........lots of fun. My wife Mary and I decided to return "Home" after our retirement in '05. We purchased a lot just outside of Brighton And I built our retirement home in '05-06-(yes it took me that long!) We are happy to be back in the Alton area, it brings back many nostalgic memories for me; how about Block's ,Burger Chef, the "Pit" at the High School, Logan's Dairy, Play More Skating Rink-just to name a few. Hope this finds all of my classmates from the class of '66 doing well & God Bless!"..............Jim
