James's Story
Life
I am a native of Woodbridge, VA and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelorÂs degree in Management Information Systems. I am a graduate of the Airborne, Ranger, and Jumpmaster Schools. I have earned a masterÂs degree in Business from Webster University of St. Louis.
I was commissioned as a 2LT in the Infantry in 1985. My initial assignments were as a rifle platoon leader, company executive officer, and support platoon leader in the 10th Mountain Division (Light) at Fort Drum, New York where I married Caroline in 1989.
In 1989, I attended the Transportation Officers Advanced Course and was then assigned to the 1st COSCOM at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina where I served as assistant operations officer in the 507th Corps Support Group. In 1991, I deployed to Saudi Arabia where I took comm...Expand for more
and of the 126th Transportation Company (Medium Truck) and participated in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Following redeployment to Fort Bragg, I served as the aide-de-camp to the 1st COSCOM Commanding General.
In 1996, I was assigned to the 25th Division in Hawaii, where I served as Division Transportation Officer and later the Support Operations Officer for the 225th Forward Support Battalion. In 1998, I was assigned to the Pentagon, where I served as the Transportation Automation Team Chief for the Department of the Army and then was assigned to the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army as the Deputy Director of Protocol. I served as the commander of the military pier located in Pusan, Korea and am now back home in the Pentagon.
My wife, Caroline, and I have one son, Alexander, and one daughter, Anna.
