James's Story

Life Moved around several times while growing up, a requirement of my Dad's career. Spent some time in college initially, then joined the Air Force to start a career in aircraft maintenance. Exited the Air Force and got my Airframe, Powerplant and FCC licenses. Worked for a few airlines and became involved in avionics. I have 2 beautiful kids. Took some time off from the airlines to continue my education and I got an electronics degree to help with my avionics career. Aside from spending time with my 2 children and all the regular health and fitness activities, I enjoy flying Electric 3-D and Patternship R/C aircraft. I am also a motorcycle enthusiast, so I like to hop on the bike when ever I get the chance. My recent interests are V-twin sportbikes, I am currently riding an SV1000S by Suzuki, it's mid-life crisis red and has the rumbly engine I always imagined as a kid. I have recently jumped back into perfoming avionic maintenance on airliners and cargo aircraft. I have been fortunate enough to have given another child, my son was born on St. Patricks day. That's about it as of 2005! Hello again, still alive in Tucson, AZ despite my best efforts. Still doing the aircraft maintenance and avionics. Unfortunately, I have a 350 mile drive to see my son and daughter, but I'm just not into El Paso's job market. Still rampant on the motorcycles, love finding the twisties. Not much R/C flying going on these days. My new favorite thing is spending a day-off on high mountain trails hiking and having lunch at altitude. Been drooling over road and mountain biking lately...Who knew the desert was so much fun. Stop by anytime and say hi to amtjim when on msn. That's what's new November 2007! Hello again, we are all together now in one spot(bougth our first house together in Red Rock, AZ)thank God. No more commutes to El Paso. Still having fun in the desert and enjoying the fun of having 2 children to share it with and watch them grow. Traded in the sportbike for a Can-Am Spyder...I guess an electric scooter is is next? Picked up the R/C thing again and training my kidlets to fly. That's it Feb 2009. Stop by and say "hi!" on facebook! And again, nealry forgotten about this site since myspace and facebook have taken over. That being said, I'm not an active member on here so I have no idea who's recently started signing or visiting(membership required)...come by and say "Hi!" on facebook. A lot has happened since last visit, the Spyder I mentioned previously had to be lemon lawed and I went back to 2 wheels...and had a near fatal accident. Amnesia forbids me from remembering what happened, but I was told bicycles coming down Mt. Lemon here in Tucson were in my lane and I made an effort to avoid them and went into a guard rail and then a rock face. Welllllll...the doctors did quite a good job reassembling me and I worked my butt off performing all sorts of physical therapy to get back to 110%. The only problem is, the doctors didn't fix "the stupid". I fully understand this, I am a form of job security to them, why fix "the stupid"? They need jobs, too. So what I am leading to is that I am still riding, I started with giving Can-Am another try and it has been a great machine, no problems at all this time. I did...Expand for more
n't stop there, sold off the Jeep and ride a Buell 1125CR for weekend fun. Unfortunately I find the house empty these days, I now live in an 1800sqft man cave? That marriage has some turmoil! Kids are doing great, they really have something to offer the future. My abandon/rescue blue heeler kelpi keeps the house warm and barky and we patrol the neighborhood. Still hiking the local mountains and work, work, work trying to beat the economy. That's it as of 26JAN12. And a happy 19Jan13, it's been about a year since we last shared some coffee and biscotti blah~blah~blah. 2012 was not that good of a year and had some what of a bad finally. Became yet another short seller, an unusuaul feeling of happy defeat to sign it away. What a big waste of time and effort, not sure I'll ever buy a house again. Still quite active in riding and outdoor activity, riding in 18* 2012~2013 winter weather is crisp. Sometimes I wish the days were 32 hours long. Seems like we just haven't had enough and want to make mud pies of that political residue. Questions still unanswered, but we haven't pressed and re-elected them as well. How 'bout that, it's another AZ summer in June 2013. A Dad turning 70 on Father's Day, WOW! My brother and his wife blessed with a 3rd child this year and other relatives starting college. That's quite a spread. Standing at the threshold of many changes myself this summer, trying to view it as a new adventure. Old life, YOUR ARE FIRED! Time to move on and start fresh. See new things and revisit old. A different canvas for the kids, Millie dog and I to enjoy our activities on! Wear some old clothes, this could be fun messy. Always a shout out to the Can Am Spyder RSS, sorry Buell. I'll have to catch up with you later. Heard EBR has some new machines on the horizon, YES! Wow...November 2014. Was busy chasing this year. New employment and trying to be near the kids while they are being drug around. Not a big fan of Oklahoma City and just trying to atleast honor the year I said I would give them. An wonderful woman came into my life shortly before leaving AZ and I am quite inspired to return and start a new life with her. Hello, June 2015...it's so good to see you! A few weeks left in OKC before returning to AZ and a family reunion to celebrate my parents 50yrs of marriage. Everyone will get to meet CaryLlew, something I am quite excited about. Looking forward to sharing a good life with a wonderful woman. Thank you, God! June 2018, Tucson area working at Bombardier on the aircraft of the rich and famous, they do love their toys. I get that, I have a few of my own. Picked up on the drone flying and FPV, quite a different perspective and experience flying from a birds point of view. I never thought I would ever say it's very easy to get lost in the sky, but you learn and quickly rerecognize the visual change of terrain. Still riding motorcycles, CaryLlew has adapted well to passenger life on those twisty roads. Kids are doing great, but 1400+ miles away unfortunately. Our only time to revisit is 2 weeks in summer, soon one of them won't be strapped to that mandate and can move on with her life. They should enjoy great success if they pursue like they have in school in excedence even of NJHS and NHS. Y'all have fun
