James's Story

Life James A. Donnelly is prominent figure -visionary in broadcasting and new media podcasting and podsafe music.. Born in Pennsylvania with a musical roots, Donnelly started multi-track r recording at the young age of 7. At a young age he hung out at local radio stations learning the craft of professional DJs. With his interest in music, film and television Donnelly was the youngest Station Manager at his college WKRC, King’s College. Donnelly was the Original Bass player for the the band “Synch”, later becoming “Jimmy Harnen and Synch“. The song “Where Are You Now?” was #10 on the Billboard Charts June 1989. Donnelly started his career at WNEP-TV, New York Times, working his way up to Producer for PM Magazine. During that time Donnelly produced video for Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Miramax Films, early in their career for their film Playing for Keeps (1987) (produced by Miramax but distributed by Universal Pictures) which aired on MTV. A then little-known Marisa Tomei has a supporting role. PetsOnBoard.com started one of the first online pet adoption sites in 1996 with local SPCA. Video Archive NBC News Feed 1996 Donnelly later produced videos for the band The Badlees A&M Records, and featured a interactive video on their CD (Up There Down Here (Ark 21 Records, 1999) End of 2004-beginning of 2005 Donnelly starting madlymedia.com, which later turned into Madpod.com, a music, comedy podcast. Traveling to New York City and joining the NYC Podcasting Group, with such member as Meetup.com co-founder Scott Heiferman, and Rocketboom’s creator Andrew Baron. In 2005 After meeting Adam Curry in Ontario, CA at the first Podcast Portable Media Expo, 2006 Donnelly joined the Podshow Network with his flagship podcast MadPod.com. He has produced numerous programs and his show “Out Of Focus”, an entertainment show. He found himself in a new career of DVD… as a video compressionist, working at Ritek Digital Studios, (now Digital Deluxe), working on DVD’s for DreamWorks, Disney, and Universal Studios, and titles such as SHREK,Artificial Intelligence, Spy Games and American Pie. *1991 “Keep the Home Fires Burning” song for troops & families of war.
