James's Story
Life
So, we are all approaching or have reached 50 now. In high school that seemed so far off; at 50, high school sometimes seems like yesterday. Well, anyway, I am approaching my 20th wedding anniversary, live in Glasgow, Delaware, have 2 step children and a grandaughter (never had children of my own blood, but love the "step" family dearly. Live with my wife Carole (who has recently become a cancer SURVIVOR!), and my 3 cats, Jazz,Gizmo, and Target. Work as a professional mattress salesperson for Sleepy's, mostly in Pennsville, New Jersey. Am involved with Junior Achievement as a long time classroom volunteer, am on the Board of Governors of the Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA. am a history buff who has become somewhat of an expert on the American Revolution (no, not into re-enactments). er 50 years now. My sister Judy (she prefers "Jude"), MTP Class of '77, moved back last year back to Delaware from Virginia Beach, where she resided for 12 years or so. She is married with 3 step-children. I still love Delaware, but as I get older, I more and more understand why people move to Florida in the Winter. I coordinated the class of '75 30th reunion in 2005 (of course with much help from other class members), and look forward to our 35th, though not sure how involved I want to be in planning that. What else? Well, as I have become older I went from being politically conservative to a bleeding heart left-wing liberal to finally settling into a comfort zone of slightly to the left moderate (I do carry an ACLU card though). So, I turned 50 on October 1, 2007, and it didn't phase me much (I passed 30 and 40 without much thought).
