James's Story

How do you hope old friends remember you? Hmm, I haven't thought about that one too much. I always wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a very unrealistic idea because, well, I hated school. As it turns out, they were right; I now work in a cube in some company. How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax. CrossFit, walk my dog to the park, make a pitcher of margarita, maybe go shooting. What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? I was patient and waited until I was out of high school to have fun. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have decent paycheck, excellent vacation time, and a decent PC to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Do you have a hero? Talk about where your inspiration comes from. Yeah, right. Where do these sites get these really gay questions from? People actually get paid to write this crap; THEY GET PAID. Amazing. Where have you lived? Why did you move? Another good one. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my Pop. Sports. Reality TV. Pets. Share your obsessions. Another excellent question. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? No suprises here. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel and add on a . My dream home would be . I'll be moving soon, so this question doesn't matter all that much. Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Mr. Landis so that he knows that I got a BA in English Literature, with emphasis in Professional and Technical Writing. If I won $100 million, I'd buy an island in the Georgian Bay region, live there year round, and send airplane ticket invitations to potential loiterers. Ever live in a dorm? Join the Greek system? Talk about campus life. Yeah, right. To be truly happy, you would be in Canada, backpacking, with whoever I want to be with me. My current age is 37. When I was 12, I didn't think about what people would be at 37. What a totally dumb question. Working hard? Yes, but it's not unloading trucks at 3 a.m. ...Expand for more
in the morning hard. What happened to your first crush? I think she became a doctor. If so, good for her. My best friend would tell you I'm one of the coolest people on the planet (duh), but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as "Hey, there's that nerd Jimmy." Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style. Gag, seriously? I dress whatever the f&ck the way I want to dress. What's the weirdest job you ever had? I don't do weird jobs. Contrary to popular belief, the American male isn't a total wuss as edified in modern commercialism and will simply lay their character on the line for a dollar. I share my home with my dog, two cats, and my fiance, which I find crowded, which is why we are house shopping. Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, oh now that's a rich one. I have this third place trophy from little league baseball. That one's cool, and once I got that one, I never wanted another after it. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Such public statements should never be uttered. I think I'll keep it that way. In 10 years, I hope to be RETIRED. I'm going to get there by saving and investments, and Canada here I come. Talk about your oldest friend how you met and why you clicked. He's one of the best men I know of, and it's just the way it is. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? Probably not that much. Like I have a secret identity, like Superman. Now that would be interesting, or that I work for the CIA. Yeah, right. My first job was working with my dad, where I got paid $20 to pull nails. What I remember most about it was that I was 8, got to drink coffee in the morning, and could buy Star Wars figures when I wanted instead of begging for them like most kids at K-Mart or Best. Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. I threw this big rock in the air when I was a kid and it came straight down and bonked me on the head. Smart, eh? Probably why I didn't do very well in school, or maybe it triggered ADD?
