James's Story
Life
Living the country life in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas since 1993. Served in the Active Army for four years as an enlisted man in the Infantry. After getting discharged I went back to school using the G.I. bill. Received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the R.O.T.C program at Circle Campus, Chicago, and attained the rank of Captain. Served as an Armor officer for five years. Then I did some time as a Quartermaster officer in the Army Reserves. I found my old course book from Kelly High School and in 1970 SFC Harris , the R.O.T.C. instructor, gave me straight D's for the whole year in R.O.T.C.! I currently have a Federal Firearms License and operate a small firearms business since April 2000 to make some extra money that I spend on my flock of cats. rifles which are in GREAT demand and are a very wise investment in today's uncertain times. In 2021 it is very difficult for me to purchase new guns and ammo because of severe shortages and high demand, Me and my wife Carmen have been married since October 1975. We got 7 cats, all fixed so that they don't reproduce. I look back at 1972 and ask where did 49 years go? They went by so fast! My wife Carmen is a home care aide. She works with elderly and disabled people. She likes doing this. My cousin, Mary Katherine Jankusky, Kelly class of 1970, passed away March 8, 2015 from cardiac arrest while having a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. She was 62. Her married name was Billerman. Google Mary Billerman and you will find her obituary that is still online. As we age, we must eat clean, drink clean and get some daily exercise such as walking which is considered the BEST medicine.
