James's Story
Still here in the old home town. I have been employed in the machining and manufacturing industries for the past 39 years, as an inspector and designer. In the past two decades I have returned to my real love, writing, and thanks to Amazon I have a number of novels available as well as a compilation of short stories and poetry. I bought an older (1974) 29 foot sailboat in 2013, and have restored it about 90% (good enough to take her out)...guess I just want that one last "hurrah" of adventure. Used to sail a lot in my mid twenties and early thirties...but home ownership and being responsible got the best of that for twenty years. And I owe Alfred Fox an apology for calling him "Dave" at the end of our 30st reunion...one too many beers and the fact I had a friend named Dave Alford sort of tangled my tongue...so, sorry, man!
Well, sold that boat this year (2023) but still playing at golf. Finally fully retired last Sept. and am enjoying that every day is Saturday! Have not seen any of my high school classmates since the reunion in 2015. At least I do not remember seeing any.
Just joined back up here to see if there was anything going on for our 50th. Doesn't look like it. Oh, well.
