Jim's Story
Life
Jim Scott (1948 - still going)
Born in Corpus Christi, I moved to Flour Bluff in 1957. (Corpus Christi later moved out there with us.) I graduated from FBHS in 1966 and attended Texas A&I University (now Texas A&M - Kingsville). After graduation, I immediately gained employment with the US Army. Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (Military Intelligence), I served out the Vietnam War in Germany.
After returning to the US, (and getting a divorce), I earned an MBA (specializing in operations research) and a PhD (specializing in Statistics) from North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). There may be a pattern here. ...Expand for more
First the town changed names after I left, then both alma maters changed names. Come to think of it, my parents moved after I left, too.
Since getting my PhD, I have worked at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (you've got it, now the University of Louisiana - Lafayette), a now defunct MBA program at the University of Missouri, Creighton University, a now defunct CIS program at Boston University, and Central Michigan University. (My department here has changed names three times, but they haven't shaken me yet.)
Along the way, I was married and divorced and married again. Now my wife and I live in Michigan with our two youngest children.
