More about James:"My last name was formerly spelled Shirley. I reverted to the original Norwegian spelling after college in 1980.". ( It is now spelled Sjolie). I am currently living in the Ozark mountains of Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas. I left Mpls. in 2005 after buying property here in the early 90's. I am single, having never married. Three of my four brothers are still living (Mark, David and John). I majored in English at the U of M and maintained a 4.0 average for 5 quarters-no degree. I became a born-again Christian in 1970 and positive reconstruction began in my young life; enabling me to do better in my studies than I had before.

life (a hybrid muskie) and had me hold it for the picture. The sun was setting and the background actually looks darker than it was. David is six years younger than I and still lives in the house near the main beach at Cedar Lake that we grew up in while I attended Kenwood, Jefferson Junior High, and West Senior High in the 50's and 60's. The picture was taken in my canoe, which is now with me in the Ozarks. I used to run and swim and was probably in about the best shape of my life at the time it was taken. High School was a very unstable period of my life and I can't say I have many good memories of it. I wish I had known some of my classmates better, but was quite inhibited at the time. We were fortunate to live in the Kenwood district near Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles and Calhoun, and I enjoyed activities outoors there. My e-mail address is: seahillsite at yahoo.
