James's Story
School
Hi Guys,
I am the guy that used those aluminum crutches and popped up and down the stairs pretty quickly.
I was a military brat (AF-SAC) and attended school mostly overseas in Europe. My father retired in 1964 at Carswell AFB in Texas where Kit taught me to swim and I began grade six. We moved to Denver, Colorado where I did the middle of grade six at Sable Elementary and became student council president. One of my slogans was, "Don't be a creep, vote for Sleep." Heh heh... We moved to Taylor, Michigan in 65 and I finished grade six at LBJ Elementary where I fell in Love with Vicki McLaughlin and went to Boblo Island.
Taylor was a fun time for me. I went to West Junior High where I sang in the chorus and went to Interlochen with them. I met a good friend Do...Expand for more
ug Straub. I also met his sister Judy the greatest young-boy dream ever. That is also where I learned to smoke, a terrible habit at best....I finally quit in 92.
We made a final move to Dearborn where I began attending Lowrey Junior High. Eventually I went to Fordson High School and graduated in 1971. I went to the University of Michigan. I worked for awhile as a musician in local pubs and bars. I eventually went to work as a writer/photographer for the Automotive Industry.
I am now trying to write a novel-we'll see how far that goes. I am also producing a documentary on disabled people and employment. I teach karate and self defense to both disabled and able bodied students. That is me so far. I hope to hear from any old school mates or friends. Write me.....
