Jamie's Story

Life August 10th, 2005 - Well, I went and got myself a girlfriend who just so happens to be going to Moravian as well (technically, she hunted me down, but that's a story for another time). It'll be interesting to see if she will have an effect on my studies! I must say that this is perfect timing - I'm getting my four impacted wisdom teeth pulled in three days, and I might need somebody to console the tremendous amounts of pain that could be involved. Lindsey has the potential to be one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me, and my hopes are sky-high. Addendum (09/24/09): I think our recent engagement pretty much confirms that Lindsey is indeed one of the greatest things to have ever happened to me! High School Throughout the first two years of East, I was the guy who sat in the bleachers in the sense that I didn't involve myself in anything extracurricular in nature. Accordingly, most of my classmates knew me from my term as Junior Class Co-president, my participation in the Mr. East contest in my senior year, and making an arse of...Expand for more
myself at Junior and Senior Prom (I couldn't help it; dancing is FUN!). In short, I was known by everyone, but a friend to few, which is exactly how I liked it. I just thought I'd take the time to say that I miss you guys! College I really blossomed academically. With a great deal of much-appreciated mentoring from my professors, I met my "second love": mathematics. This time of my life, which encompassed my rise from meek first-semester freshman in Calculus III to published author will always be one of my highlights. Graduate School To nobody's surprise (except, perhaps, for my own), I ended up deciding to pursue my PhD in mathematics. In all honesty, I'm updating my profile right now because I've spent the past six hours on a particularly grueling assignment for Math 401 (Real Analysis I) and needed a break. Needless to say, grad school has been a challenge, but it's one I'm eager to tackle. Military Hardy har-har! ME, in the MILITARY!? You'd have to put a gun to my head to make me do something crazy like that! Addendum (09/24/09): Ditto
