Life While everyone else was planning to attend the Senior Prom, I was planning my July 7, 1979 wedding. I was married until February 2002. Mark and I had two (2) wonderful kids, Justin and Ashley, who were both born on January 26, 1982 and 1987, respectively. Unfortunately, our Justin was run over and killed as he was exiting a party being held in a pasture in Winter Garden on April 7, 2002. In September 2002, the 18-year old driver that ran our son over was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death. Charges were subsequently dismissed in March 2003 because Justin was killed on private property. Apparently, State Unfiorm Traffic Rules did not apply to private property (Chapter 316, Florida Statutes). In June 2004, I began lobbying to change these laws. State Representative Dennis Ross and Senator Carey Baker filed Bills in both the House and Senate in preparation for the 2005 Legislative Session. Unfortunately, we simply ran out of time.
