Jamie's Story
How does one tell a story about herself without boring you all to death? I won't go as far as some people do but I will tell you it has been an interesting decade since I graduated.
After High School, I took a year off and visited family in other parts of the country. I also made my social life a big part of who I was. I could be found dancing the night away 4 nights a week, at a local country bar near Disneyland. I eventually started college at RSC, but after a semester, decided school just wasn't my thing. In 1998 I met a man who was from Texas, but was serving our country in San Clemente. We got this hairbrain idea in our heads that we wanted to get married, so I packed up and moved to Tx with him in June 1999. Yah, that lasted long. By April 2000, I was back in Cali, with a new idea... Get an education and get on with it. my family had moved to Riverside County, so I began taking courses at RCC Norco, where in 2004 I graduated with an Associates Degree. re Teacher at a school-age day care center for over 3 years. In 2004, after graduating with my AA, I wrote a list of Pros and Cons to continuing my education and/or returning to Tx to get my old job back as a Corrections Officer. I chose the latter. Although I had been accepted to Humboldt State Univ. in No. Cali, I don't think my heart was truly ready to move all the way up north so instead, I packed back up and moved back to Texas.
I got my old job back, 5 months after I arrived in Tx. I also was reunited with a friend from San Antonio, who I ended up moving to SA to roommate with. I transferred to San Antonio with my job in May 2006 and have been here ever since. In Feb 2008, I met the man who is the love of my life. We recently bought a new house together.
I am a member of Myspace and Facebook, if anyone would like to touch base and remember the times we had at CHS. Speaking of old times... Does anyone remember the speech at graduation about us being the "peanut butter and jelly sandwiches of tomorrow?"
