Jan's Story

Jamie O'Connor and I got married in '74. We lived in Falls Church for about 12 years and then moved to Nokesville, VA, which is a small town past Manassas a few miles. We lived in Nokesville for 20 years, bought 11 acres and built our own house. Life was perfect and I loved that town. We had horses and dogs. I wanted one of every animal, but my husband threated to divorce me! But life happens and we moved our animals and home to San Diego, where I work for Qualcomm as a paralegal. My son, James, was in a band for 10 y...Expand for more
ears and now lives in SD, too. He traveled extensively with the band and this is the most we have seen him since he graduated from high school! SD is a beautiful place to end up, although I miss my friends in VA very much! We live a mile from the beach. Everyone rides bicycles and walks everywhere in Pacific Beach where we live. The lifestyle is very different from VA. Its a more balanced life here because the weather is so beautiful! Everyone runs marathons and gets up at 6:00 am to work out! I'm trying to adapt!
