Jan's Story
Update, 2009:
Semi-retired. Went from court reporting to real estate broker and investor. Bought hotel on beach in Pompano and sold ten years later. Invested in farm land in KS. Still doing real estate. I bale hay, drive really big tractors, grow soy beans, corn, planted 18 acreas of hard woods and started raising angus cows this year. I never, ever would have thought I would be farming. ave it, in 2005 and 2006 when I started farming, we had record 200-year floods in KS and most of the crops were lost. On the feminine side, doing quilting, started a latte quilt, love cooking, entertaining friends, living in Florida. I still live mainly in Florida, but I also visit Valdosta, Ga, where I'm from, and Ottawa, KS, where I farm.
