Jan's Story
Life
Shortly after high school I married the wrong man. I didn't realize how wrong he was until one house and two children later. I stayed single, raising my daughter and son virtually by myself, for nearly 10 years until I met the man of my dreams -- Richard Brear, Rayburn Class of '69! After 23 years together, I still think he's the most incredible person I've ever known! He inspired me to go to college, get a degree (I emulated him -- I became a high school English teacher), and we are working toward a comfortable retirement in a few y...Expand for more
ears. We have three granddaughters (one of which we are blessed to have had live with us for 3 years) and a grandson that give us great joy. I have recently discovered JOY in caring for my granddaughter, cooking, and herb gardening. I am currently working on my Masters in Education with the hope that, when I'm done, I can find something else to do besides teach uncooperative high schoolers!
