Jan's Story
I graduated from SHS in 1965. I marrried Ernest Putnam. We had 3 children who are now grown. Wendi, who lives with her daughter in Henagar; Jon, who lives with wife Jessica and 3 children in Decatur; and Matt, who lives in Huntsviile with his wife Lindsay and 2 children. tendent of the Dade County Schools. I taught English in DeKalb and Madison Counties for 24 years, then worked for AEA for 5. I retired in May 2006, and began teaching English in South Pittsburg at Richard Hardy Memorial School, a small k-12 public school.
