Life
I still live in Bakersfield with my hubbie Gary. Can you believe it? We have been married 36 years. I finally went back to school and recieved my Bachelors in Business Admin. Then 4 years later, and after 18 years on the job at the hospital, I quit to stay home and take care of my mom who lived with us for 3 years. After she passed away, I decided to just be a sub at the HS level which I have had a blast doing. I recently started a new job with the County of Kern as a Case Manager helping local residents in their search for employment as a result of being laid off or unemployed for many other reasons. Challenging work in this economy. Currently, I have 5 grandchildren ranging from a 16 yr old to a 1 yr old. Both of my older grandsons won CA State Championships in Ice Hockey in April of this year. inished as the top League scorer for the So. Cal Hockey Assoc. & Hunter's team (10yr old) finished undefeated and ended the season ranked #1 in the Nation for their age group!!!!! Imagine ice hockey in Bakersfield??!! Obviously, we do ice hockey in the winter and love to camp and water ski in the summer. We also love to travel, and have been all over Mexico, BC, and even to the Czech Republic & Vienna where we visited the home of one of our local pro hockey players. I still love the ocean and fish whenever I can. These days, I prefer swimming in the warmer ocean waters of Mexico compared to cold waters of Pismo! I am still involved in my church and attend youth camps in summer as a counselor or recreation person, but now I take my grandkids instead of my children.
