Jan's Story
Life
I married Jim McGrew (Jordan '64) after he found my name here. Living in Owensville, Indiana and loving it! I work part-time at the local library. I spend my spare time gardening, cooking and playing with my 10 new grandchildren. We have a home in the country with a pool and about 7 acres all of our own! We are planting fruit trees and I hope to have a nice crop of cherries, pears, apples and peaches next year if the damn Japanese beetles don't beat me to it!
6 years later and most of the info is the same except we no longer have the pool. Jim had heart surgery 4 years ago and the algae and crud got away from us so we had the dumb thing taken out. Besides, the kids didn't use it anymore, anyway. And, now we have 12 grand children and 1 great-grandson!
Oh, and the cherries still haven't made an appearance. We get about 2 apples a year whether we need them or not. The birds and the deer beat us to the pears and the peaches. For the life of me, I can't force myself to run the little Bambis off.

ll hates working for PPG and I still love working at the library. We thought we were catching a break this year when we thought our division of PPG had been sold, but it looks like that has fallen through and the new company is suing PPG for lying about what kind of shape the company is really in. So we are stuck with PPG. Bummer. The olden days of a company being good to its employees and the employees being loyal to the company have gone the way of the Edsel and baseball players playing for the same team for their entire careers. Gosh, I sound like an old person!!!
Jim and I sing in the choir at our church and we are really enjoying that. We have a fun choir director who actually makes us all sound pretty darned good.
We recently bought a PT Crusier and are having a lot of fun with that. I want to put lots of chrome on it and really trick it out (or is that pimp it out?), and then we will look like geezers in a fancy car we borrowed from the grandkids!
That is all the new news for a while.
