Life
Hmmm, my life bio. Well, I got 2 great kids with a greater husband. We just finished a major addition and renovation to our house. I now have a working powder room instead of a "storage" room. Susan graduated Ithaca May (08) Magna cum laude . Michael is in his second year at West Chester. Hopefully, he will make the deanâÃÂÃÂs list again. Yes, he DID! (Dec10) He also finally admitted to his sister that he wasted his high school years by goofing off and NOT doing homework or studying. There was a time that all we thought he would do is be a trash truck driver. He's capable of straight AâÃÂÃÂs but didnâÃÂÃÂt work towards it. He now knows the error of his ways. This must be a boy thing. I know 2 of my nephews did the same thing. Hmmm.
I work 5 minutes from the house (8 if i get the traffic lights). I work 3 days a week :( now and if the economy continues to tank (even though "they" say it's improving), I will be retiring, which I know I won' like. This semi-retirement stinks, so full retirement will be worse. Well, I now found a job to take up the other 2 days. I start sometime at the end of March (11).
I go to Chgo twice a yr and sometimes spend T-G in St Croix. With spending a week at a time in Chgo, it's never enough time to do everything I want to do. This past T-G (2010) I spent 11 days and still didnt get to see all my friends! Would love to spend time in Europe, but not with working 3 days!
I have also just discovered Ebay and Craig's List - Feb 2011. Yes, I know they have been around for a long time, bu...Expand for more
t some people are slow. I just picked up a Singer 403A - just like my mothers!! When she passed, my sister took it, and she doesn't even really sew!! Now I have 3 machines (one does embroidery) and a serger. I have very limited time to use them, but gee....maybe if I quit work, I can just bury myself in my sewing room and cut up all the fabric that I keep buying.
Ok - update March 2012. Well, recently turned 56, This 1956 model surely doesn't look like it has a 56 yr yound chasis. So says my nephews and niece. Infact, my youngest niece, upon turning 18 this past January said i was only 2 yrs older than her! hmmm, I wonder if she's buttering me up for something. At this time, I am semi-retired as I am currently unemployed but looking. I get bored if I am not working. In the mean time, I have refinished an antique sewing desk, obtained two antique school desks that i will do the same, am emptying closets and will head for the attic before it gets hot out.
My daughter Susan, after being laid off as a phys ed teacher iln June of 09, finally got a job in Nov 2011. She works now at the Pa School for the Deaf. She loves it. She will now continue her quest to complete her masters iln Deaf Ed. She has just over one semester's worth of classes to go. She is also coaching a travel softball team. My son Michael is in his Jr yr at West Chester University and again made us proud! Was on the Dean's List again. He is majoring in Accounting/Finance.
That's it for now. Looking forward to my annual May trip to Chicago. (also go every November too!)
