Jan's Story
From the time of finishing High School, spent a year in Bible college in Dallas studying writing. Ended up fascinated by the patients in the Convalescent Center where I went for service work. Returned to Siloam and worked as an aide in the hospital. They asked me to learn to scrub/assist in surgery with the understanding I would go to nursing school at the end of a year. ana College of Nursing, took boards in Austin, and became an RN. My first love was E.R.,, but also worked dialysis, surgical floor nursing, orthopedics, stroke rehab, several years in management, several years in Home Health. I worked in Texarkana, Fayetteville, Little Rock from '74 to '08, when I retired early to care for my Mom. I've been blessed to be able to build a log cabin 6 miles from the city, where enjoy a view, visiting deer, and plenty of chiggers.
