Janeen Knapstein:  

I was born and raised in California until 1970. I was into Ballet and Modern Dance. I attended the Pepito and JoAnne Ballet Academy on Ross Street in Santa Ana, California, across the street from Willard Jr. H.S. I went to Santiago Elementary, then to Willard Jr. H.S. My best friend was Jennifer Ogle, but I also hung out with Sally Rubio, occasionally. Jennifer moved to Newport Beach in 8th grade, and I started hanging out with Diane Whitney, who use to go with Ronnie Moreno. Anyone remember them? I knew and liked, Debbie Boro, Barbara Doering, Pam Jenkins, Pammie Lee, Caroline Clinton, Amy Hollingsworth and so many more. I dated Paul Leversen, if any of you remember him. My family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1970, when Disney came here. They invested in property all over Central Florida and did very well. I hated leaving Southern California to move, to what I call, Twilight Zone. I had a major culture shock. A guy that I grew up with in California, followed me down here in 1972. We got married in 1975, and lasted a miserable 9 years. We divorced - he went back to California - and I married the brother of one of my friends, in 1985. We lived in Central Florida until 1992.
