Janelle's Story
Life
Married, three Labradors, two tabbies, nieces and nephews. Living in Tacoma, practicing massage and attending school (again). Lots of home improvements that never seem to end and fabulous views of Mt. Rainier!
School
Studied massage in Tacoma at Alexandar's, graduated 2/02. A year ago I realized that I wanted to teach health and change the curriculum in public schools so that more people could learn how to care for their bodies through exercise, nutrition and relaxation at an age that can most effectively and positively impact lives: middle school. e at UW Tacoma where I will likely enter a master's program in the next couple of years for my teacher certification and M.Ed. Nothing like jumping back into the middle school muddle.
College
I've been to a few: WWU, BCC, UW (Seattle, and for two different stints), back to BCC, and finally at UWT. Happy to have such a great campus so close to home!
Workplace
Currently I'm practicing massage in my home. I've done work in a chiropractic office and then on-site at a health food store (and some offices). I'll continue to practice while finishing school and then if/when I end up teaching.
