Janet's Story
I am the oldest child of five wonderful, and loving siblings. My father is from Peru, and my mother is from Cuba, and I was born in the Garden State of New Jersey. I was raised in a very strict household, and was not given the usual American teenage freedom of being allowed to go to football games, or other activities which caused me to rebel, and want a sense of freedom. After my first year at Coronado High School, I was sent away unexpectedly to live in Miami, Florida in hopes that I would mature, and settle my restlessness. It worked, and I was then returned to El Paso, where I finished my last year at Coronado. iage ended in a divorce. Soon afterwards, I married a man named David Flores, and have been with this loving individual for the last 25 years. We have four children ages 31, 30, 27, and 23, two of them are Teachers, one is a Computer Graphic Designer, and the youngest is still trying to figure it out. I am currently working as a Elementary Teacher at Guerrero School, and I have the honor of working with Dyslexic students from first grade to fifth grade. I think it is funny how in my younger days I spent so much time trying to figure out how to stay out of school, and now I live most of my life in school.
