Janet's Story
High school was delicious--I loved almost all of it, especially Choraliers. Had no idea who I was or wanted to be...just checking out all the possibilities.
Went to UTA on scholarships, met Mr. Wonderful my freshman year and got married three weeks after graduation in 1967. Went off to Texas A&M in 1968 to graduate school--only girl in all-male classes at the time. Graduated in 1971, sold our first house and traveled around Europe on proceeds before settling in Dallas. Have lived here ever since.
Beautiful daughter Amanda born in 1976. Worked in PR, editing and university teaching, as well as daily newspaper (A&M, UNT, TWU, SMU, Denton Record Chronicle) until forming own business in early 1980s.
Became single parent when our daughter was five.

e SMU campus. Miss the university life, but have loved having my own public relations/corporate communications practice since 1983. Have met interesting people, had clients in Europe, traveled mostly for fun, won some awards, and have completely enjoyed "running the show."
I have a "kinder, gentler" life now. Live in North Dallas, have more time for fun and friends, work as much as I like to/need to. Would prefer to be 27 forever. Have never remarried, but have had great boyfriends. Might like to narrow it down to one special companion one of these days--if he's lively and fun.
Two frisky West Highland Terriers--Casper and Caroline--are my constant companions. The rest of my pals have two legs, come in all ages and are the greatest friends.
And that's my story--for now.
