A native of Georgia, Mrs. Fair attended Auburn University and moved to Tyler in 1981. She began a radio career at the age of 14, working part-time at WKEU in Griffin, GA. Positions have included: announcer, news director, talk-show host, promotions director, operations manager, sales manager. She has been recognized by the Associated Press for outstanding broadcast journalism.
In 1991 she began working for Tyler Today Magazine and purchased the publication three years later. She served as the editor and publisher until 2005 when she sold the magazine. She currently works as an advertising consultant and freelance writer.
Mrs. Fair has a Business Management degree and a master¿s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
She was the co-host of the Chamber Minute that aired on KLTV - Channel 7 and she hosted the television show ¿Inside East Texas¿ that aired on KFXK (FOX 51) for three years and continues to do radio and television commercials.
Shehas served on the following boards: City of Tyler One-Half Cent Sales Tax Corporation, Inc.,, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, Mental Health Association, United Way of Tyler/Smith County, Chamber Contact Club, Tyler Area Builders Association (presently), and was the Chair the Tyler Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is also a member of the Junior League of Tyler, and the Heart of Tyler.
Additional volunteer commitments have included: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Historic Aviation Memorial Museum, Texas College, and the Tyler Citizen¿s Police Academy Alumni.

Some career highlights include: being the first female R.O.T.C. student while attending Griffin High School, Griffin, Georgia (after challenging the school board), serving as one of the first ¿Junior Mayors¿ of Griffin, Georgia, being elected Governor of Georgia Girls State, selected as one of two representatives to the Girl Scout National Convention in Washington D.C., asked to be the featured speaker at the 3rd Annual Entrepreneurial Women¿s Networking Luncheon hosted by the Small Business Development Center, attending the Inauguration of President George W. Bush and being recognized as a ¿Woman Changing the World¿ by Texas College.
