Janet's Story
Life
I married my husband not long after graduation, we had known each other for a long time, and had dated for three years before we married. He passed away in 1992, and I miss him every day. We were blessed with 3 daughter's and 9 grandchildren, I recently became a great grandma to a boy on Christmas day. I have always had a dog and have one now, she is a 13 yrs old black Lab and Dingo mix, and I am not looking forward to the day that she leaves, she has been a great comfort since my husband passed away. I am still working for Alameda county library, where I have been for the past 25 yrs. I am fortunate to still have my Mother and Father, who, due to ill health have recently moved into my home. I live in Fremont, CA. This was our second home, we lived in Hayward for 7 yrs and then moved into our home here, and have been here for 35 yrs. I am a Christian, and thank God every day for the life and love I have.
Well, I guess it's time for an update. I have been retired for 5+ yrs now and have moved from Ca. to Oklahoma, I know, OKLAHOMA!!!!!, yes, I was born here and still have a lot of family in OK. actually I have more family here than I do in CA. My Mom and Dad have since passed and boy do I miss them. My daughter took care of both of them for a total of 5 yrs,before they passed, thank God she was able to do it, as I was still working and she was at the time not working, so her profession came in to play at just the right time.
When Mom and Dad died my sister and I inherited a place up in the Sierra's above Jackson, so I come to CA in the summer to get away from the heat and humidity in OK. I talk to my daughter often and she keeps me up to date on the weather !14* one day, that is way to hot for this girl, like dying and going to hell! ha... So I'm in CA now and will be until about the 1st of Oct. then back to OK,, they don't have as much snow there as they do in the CA mountains. Best of both worlds.
I have been doing a lot of traveling, I have time shares, and plan to do Europe next year or the year after, and the Holy land the next year, Alaska, and Australia are also in my plans, that is if I can hold out that long. My Husband and I did a lot of traveling in the U.S. before he passed and had planed on doing much more after we retired, so, I will go until I can go no more and then find a rocker or recliner somewhere.
