Life
Hi everyone!!! After graduation, I got married in 1972, had 2 children, boy- now 34, and girl- now 25. Lindsay graduated from DHS in 2004, and is working as a certified nurses aide. She married Mario Fuentes 1 1/2yrs ago My son graduated from DHS in 1995. He works at a local machining division. He is married to a sweet girl, Tanya, who had 2 boys and a girl and they had a little girl together, Courtney, who was born, August 24, 2004, one day after Grandpas' birthday. This grandparent stuff is great and they are all very special!!!!!
I worked at several jobs up until 1990 and decided to go to college. I graduated from the practical nursing program at DACC in 1991. Have been working as an LPN since then. Have been married to Ray Miller, for 38 years, who is from Bismarck, Illinois.
Workplace
Gosh, I had a lot of jobs before I got smart and went back to school.
I worked at KMart while I was in school and quit there shortly after I got married in September, 1972. I delivered flowers for a local florist. t Esco in the office, both of which are now closed. The Esco closing was the pits, as that is where my husband worked. Then I worked at Woodbury office supply, which is now closed. I quit there when I was 8 mths pregnant with my daughter, I went to work at Eagle Foods on N. Bowman ,when my daughter was about 6 months old. It is also closed now. Wow, they just couldn't function without me. LOL
Anyway, when I quit Eagle, I decided that I would try something different and went back to school at DACC. I was one of the older ones who graduated from the LPN nursing program in 1991, along with my sister, Julie, who is 10 years younger, by the way. I was 38 when I graduated. It was the best move I ever made in my life, other than getting married and having my 2 children. I have worked at the VA hospital ever since. I have been there almost 20 years. Nothing really fantastic, but it is my life and I am very happy!
Our whole family sings Karaoke and we really have a good time.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Sue Haun, because she was my best friend who also graduated in 1971, but sadly she passed away shortly after I graduated from DACC.
