Janet's Story

I attended Reeths-Puffer High School from 1957 to 1959. Went to Muskegon Community College and then Central Michigan University where I received a BS in Education. I began teaching at R-PHS in 1964 and retired in 2001. During that time I took time off for children and life, so I only taught 34 years total. I am thoroughly enjoying retirement and it's the best job I ever had! Barney graduated from New Buffalo High...Expand for more
School in 1951 and attended Western Michigan University. He taught two years in Montague, one in Hart, and 37 years at Reeths-Puffer HS beginning in 1963. He also retired in 2001, but still substitutes and works at athletic events. He was recently named to the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame. He will receive MASHF's Ditinguished Service Award in June of 2010. We are both healthy and still live in Twin Lake, MI.

This heron was startled by a sound, flew up from the shoreline, circled the pond, and landed in the pine tree. Then he flew off to parts unknown.
