Janet's Story
After attending Valley College, joined the WAC. Met and married my husband, Roy at Ft. Lawton, in Seattle, WA. Lived in Germany; Ft. Ord, Pacific Grove, Santa Cruz & San Jose, CA. By then we had 4 children and an adopted daughter, a total of 5 children (3 Army Brats). Went back to school, graduated 3rd in my nursing class and was on the Deans List for 2 semesters. Had a very interesting nursing career ending for 16 yrs as Infection Control Nurse & Director of Staff Development. Was a charter member and officer of a doll collecting club as well as a charter member of a doll costuming club & a doll making club as well as being a member of a charter miniature (NAME) club. nal clown. Husband Roy worked for Carnation Products, an electronic company with another person developing a part which was used in the early days of space travel and ACM. We retired to Oakley, CA but had to move to MN due to my husband's heath. He passed away 3 years ago, 20 days short of our 51st anniversary Now I am a member of Anoka County Historical Society and Anoka County Genealogical Society. After almost 40 years, was finally able to locate clue to paternal ancestry and within the last few years have two families traced back to middle 1700s. Interesting to find Revolutionary Soldiers & 2 Civil War Soldiers among the branches of my family tree. In spare time interested in quilting and make lots of UFOs. Have 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Enjoy retirement and Minnesota.
